Mele previously worked in the caregiving industry engaging with people who have different levels of physical and mental abilities for about 11 years. She engaged in caregiving on the weekends and always had a passion for helping others. She was introduced by her sister to the Cross Cultural Leadership Center at CSU Chico and was invited to be involved in the program there. She feels that she transformed and another door opened up for her. Soon after, she was introduced to Alliance for Education Solutions and attended the Open House event. Eventually she attended Davitto Leadership Academy’s 1st cohort’s graduation ceremony and joined as an adult mentor in the 2nd cohort. Being involved with DLA enabled her to engage more with young people and see the potential they hold within themselves. Mele is inspired by the youth she works with and looks forward to making a difference in the community. Through her position at AES, she is excited to learn more about business as she continues her education in business management and human resources at the University of Phoenix.
