Skyla Smith, a SoCal native, holds an Associate of Arts in Social Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Design. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, she fights passionately to educate and advocate for equal rights. Skyla began her career in design working for Redding’s LGBTQ+ organization, NorCal OUTreach Project. Creating a brand for NCOP, she found a way to merge her passion for design and advocacy. Over the years, she has partnered with Shasta College, Safe Zone, Stonewall Chico, National Suicide Prevention Org., and Chico State to outreach through discussions, trainings, and her love of design.
As a former Graphic Design Coordinator for the Cross-Cultural Leadership Center and AIGA President for Chico State’s Design Department, Skyla is taking her career to new heights as a Visual Design Consultant. She is honored to be a part of Alliance for Education Solutions as an ally and advocate, helping to spread the mission through “More Than Pretty Pictures”.
