Taylor Buck is a founding member of Sacramento Youth Alliance Community Action Team. Working with a team of talented young leaders in Sacramento, SYA CAT has advocated for legislation improving the lives of young people and developed community projects like the Sacramento Youth Town Hall.
Taylor’s passion for improving the lives of young people has guided her work throughout high school and college. She participated in several civic engagement programs and political campaigns, developing her interest in government and nonprofit organizations. Most recently, she served as a volunteer coordinator for Sacramento’s Measure Y Campaign.
She is an alum of Sacramento City College and is currently in her fourth year as a political science student at UC Davis. As a student at Sacramento City College, she served at the college’s Feminist Club President and successfully secured a crisis counselor to serve as a resource for victims of sexual assault and harassment. At UC Davis she has continued her focus on community service by serving as Secretary for the Prytanean Honor Society, a society based on academic and community-oriented principles.
