Our Work

To fulfill its mission AES works in partnership with like-minded stakeholders, successful principals, students and legislative champions to advocate for and improve the conditions for learning — often referred to as the school culture and climate  – at the local, district and state level.

AES Strategies Include:

  • Promoting systemic attention to the necessity of positive, high quality of the learning environments;
  • Building collaborative opportunities for key education stakeholders to share best practices, build on existing work and pool expertise;
  • Providing research and resources to state and local policymakers on education and budget issues based on the needs of students in underperforming schools;
  • Seeding strong adult and student leaders and;
  • Creating space and opportunity for authentic student voice.

Our Mission

AES’s mission is to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to advocate for and instill a culture of success and a climate of collaboration and engagement in all underperforming schools in California, giving all students the opportunity to attend schools with a high quality learning environment.

Core goals:

  • To ensure young people are actively engaged in working with adults to develop solutions to educational challenges.
  • To ensure all educational policies in California are developed with both practitioner (principal and teacher) and student input and engagement.
